I have loved makeup for a long time now, and always found it difficult to find great product for a decent price. Drug store products can also be expensive and sometimes the quality is not as great as it seems.
I want a brand where it feels like I am wearing high end makeup but not paying the price. There are several brands out there, and I know there are brands that I don’t know about yet. I cannot wait to discover them.
ColourPop Cosmetics is an inexpensive makeup brand that screams high end makeup, without the huge price tag. I found this brand about a year ago and it has become one of my favorites right now.
The way I discovered them, and started buying from this company, was because I was looking for a matte liquid lipstick that was not going to cost me $20 each. I found ColourPop and heard many great things about their matte lips and it only would cost me $6.
The quality of the product surprised me. I never thought in a million years that a $6 product would sit on my lips all day without budging. I have tried higher end liquid lips and they barely stay on. That is when I knew this brand was going to be my ride or die.
ColourPop Cosmetics is a Southern California-based makeup company founded by Laura and John Nelson in 2014.
According to fashionista.com, the Nelson’s made a conscious decision to market their brand only on social media to an audience focused on millennials. They marketed the brand by having popular beauty bloggers promote makeup products on their social media accounts.
Each product cost less than $10, with the exception of their collections and bundles that they offer on their website. The Nelson’s let the brand speak for itself and do not take the public spotlight that ColourPop has gained. Their customer service is so amazing and spot on, which is sometimes rare with any big named company.
When I first started purchasing products from them, I remember it pretty much only being lip products and super shock shadows. They have grown and expanded their brand so much in the past four years. It is very beautiful to see.
ColourPop has expanded into making eyeshadow palettes, pigments, eyeliners, concealers, highlighter palettes, setting sprays and even their very own brushes. Makeup enthusiasts can now find some of their products at Ulta.
I still think that this company has a huge amount of room to grow and expand the brand. I would love to see them make foundations, contour kits and translucent powders. They can compete with any high end brand and come out on top, in my opinion.
Soon I will be posting my little own ColourPop haul as soon as my order comes in. I cannot wait.
Here are my top 3 products from ColourPop Cosmetics:
